Press ReleasesColumbus Airport Authority Automates Accounts Payable Process with Flotiva WorkflowDAYTON, Ohio (July 15, 2002): Document Imaging Solutions, Inc. (DIS), a full-service systems integration company has just provided a customized Flotiva (formerly called Step2000), workflow solution to automate the accounts payable process for the Columbus Airport Authority (Columbus Airport). Flotiva is the only software development environment that provides totally integrated workflow, document management, and unique rapid application development power without "programming". Flotiva also provides for the Web enabling of any client-server application or any portion of the application as well. Flotiva is independent of computer platforms, operating system environments, database engines, and file formats. Columbus Airport turned to DIS to develop an accounts payable processing workflow solution that would eliminate their existing paper intensive system and decrease turn around time to process invoices. Their key objective was to enable associates to process invoices through an electronic workflow of approvals instead of manually routing paper invoices between reviewers. DIS developed a custom Flotiva solution that met the Columbus Airport’s original requirements. Additionally, the system can be expanded in the future to automate other areas within the accounting business processes. “The benefits of the Flotiva solution are immeasurable,” said Gwen Langston, Controller and Director, Finance & IT, Columbus Airport Authority. “The system will allow accounting and shipping departments to scan invoices and packing slips, and match them to original electronic purchase order. Associates will be able to quickly locate and view all of the documentation related to a purchase, from the original purchase order, through any interim correspondence, to the final invoice. Accessibility to information is timelier and efficiency is greatly improved”. DIS began working with Columbus Airport in 1998 while they were planning the construction a new parking garage. The Parking Program developed by DIS allowed Columbus Airport to scan, manage and control all the documents associated with the construction. “A room full of paper is now on disk. In a second program, DIS developed a workflow solution, integrated with our accounting system, for creating purchase order requests and purchase orders. These programs went so well, we knew where to go for our electronic accounts payable systems,” said Gwen Langston. About Columbus Airport Authority About Document Imaging Solutions, Inc.
